Creation by Collectif Crypsum

The original text is by American author Joyce Carol Oates, My Sister, My Love. It’s the story of a news item that caused a huge media explosion in the United States: the horrific murder, one Christmas Eve in 1996, of little JonBenét Ramsey, aged 6 and a half, a little blonde doll who had been voted “Little Miss Colorado”.

The American novelist delivers a dark, horribly funny text, and paints a vitriolic portrait of a family with destructive ambition, the better to show the demons lurking at the heart of the American dream. In adapting it for the stage, the Crypsum collective has chosen an evocative title for its next production, a tragic fairy tale: Disney’s version of Les Atrides, with a little skater in the role of atoning victim.
